Winemakers Notes

Girlan’s entire approach to wine is based on a strong awareness of quality. Customers can expect superior products that have matured in a natural environment, through natural cultivation. Gentle vinification and selective maturation is the key to the production of elegant and well-balanced wines with a superb palate and aroma.

Girlan wines are conceived to be an expression of their environment and terrain. This refers not only to the climate and the soil, but also to tradition and knowledge, in order to reflect the unique ecological conditions of the vineyards. With this aim in mind, the winery is built on tradition and experience, but without neglecting contemporary and innovative standards.

The Sauvignon is a very aromatic grape, cultivated in South Tyrol for the past 100 years. This wine prevails with its intensive, unmistakable taste and its racy character.  It is an elegant, lightly aromatic-grassy white wine, greenish yellow in color with aromas and flavors reminiscent of gooseberry, with hints of lemon and tropical fruit. Full, rich and very fruity.

It is an excellent aperitif as well as an ideal accompaniment for fish, seafood and spicy or rich appetizers. Also pairs with asparagus, onion soup, snails, fish.
