"The residual sugar is 2.5%, keeping the alcohol under 11%, and with the generous natural acids of the vintage it balances out just fine. Truly Germanic in style, it carries suggestions of sweet honey and tea, coupled with the snap of natural acids and a mix of pretty fruits. "P.G. (9/1/2009)

"Light and fragrant, with pretty pear, floral and lemon zest aromas and flavors, lingering easily." -HS April 30, 2010
"Such a refreshing and flavorful riesling. Lime, green apple, mineral aromas with bright citrus and apple flavors that give to a slightly sweet palate. Great balance with crisp and clean acidity that pair well with cold seafood appetizers, asian chicken salad or as an apertif" Mike, LCW

"'Succulent' best describes this fruit bowl of a wine. Its flavors are rich and ripe, but the wine never seems heavy or excessive, due in large measure to its crisp, refreshing acidity. Though not as complex as some renditions of this varietal on the market, few wines can top it for sheer pleasure."
"With floral aromas of apple, citrus and mineral, this pretty screwcapped Riesling has fresh apple and citrus flavors. It has just a touch of sweetness, balanced nicely by the wine's acidity. The wine weighs in at just 12% alcohol, so you can enjoy another glass without pushing yourself over the edge."
Winemaker Notes
Sourced from a cooler, northern vineyard to foster a fresh brightness and two very old Yakima Valley sites for depth and richness. A graceful, balanced Riesling with low alcohol and brilliant straw color. Shows abundant lime, green apple and mineral notes, softened by ripe lychee.
Follows our traditional style of light sweetness with a crisp, clean finish. While Riesling ages very well, this is a wine meant to be enjoyed within two years of release. This 100 % Stelvin closure lot keeps the wine in optimal sensory condition throughout its life in the bottle. A very versatile style suitable for a variety of occasions. Alcohol 11 %
Vineyard Philosophy
Over the course of two decades, Casey has worked to cultivate long-term relationships with the finest growers in the Northwest – growers who share his unwavering commitment to quality. As a result, he has established on of the most exceptional vineyard programs in the region. This program combines fruit from Seven Hills Winery’s own McClellan Estate Vineyard with top vineyard sources both in Washington and Oregon. Though these sites reflect the rich diversity of Northwest winegrowing they often share many important attributes; including older vines, well-drained soils, uninhibited light exposure, good air drainage and southwest-facing slopes (for most red varietals). Our program includes numerous appellations and microclimates, giving the winery access to an array of excellent fruit in even the most challenging vintages.
As the founder of Seven Hills Winery, Casey McClellan has earned a reputation as a visionary winemaker who has helped to champion the diversity of the Northwest’s most renowned appellations and vineyards. Recognized for crafting benchmark Washington State wines—with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Bordeaux red blends—Casey has established a storied wine program that has been praised for its character, quality and fair pricing.
